101-Old Testament Survey 1
 * New

   Any higher Biblical education is not complete without an Old Testament Survey course. This survey course summarizes the overall contents of the first 17 books of the Old Testament (Genesis-Esther). Many Christians wrongly believe that the Old Testament contains nothing relevant for today. It is almost treated as a separate document that is ignored or treated as a dead history.

In truth, the Old Testament points to Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said that He came not to abolish the OT but to fulfill it. Bible students must know the OT to fully understand the New Testament.

Tenants of The Faith

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Tenets of Our Faith. WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. WE BELIEVE in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return. Students in this course will cover who God is, Our Savior, and the Holy Spirit. This course focuses on the Holy Spirit for this is who Yeshua has sent once he ascended into heaven. This is who we actually should be leaning to for wisdom and guidance. The holy spirit is God’s power in action, his active force. (Micah 3:8; Luke 1: 35) God sends out his spirit by projecting his energy to any place to accomplish his will. —Psalm 104:30; 139:7. In the Bible, the word “spirit” is translated from the Hebrew word ruʹach and the Greek word pneuʹma.Most often, those words refer to God’s active force, or holy spirit.

Baptism and Communion

Immediately following baptism, the new member of the Church heard a reading from the Gospels for the very first time (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and then they received communion which included bread, wine, water, milk and honey. Students will learn more about Baptism and Communion. The  Holy Feast and Book of Acts will also be covered.

Prayer, Praise, and Worship

When we praise, worship and pray through his power, energized by his love, the results are powerful. They are powerful because God fills them with power. Exercising spiritual power is not producing, but using that which is already in existence. Again I say the power is of God. Students will learn how to incorporate the power of prayer, fasting, meditation, praise, and worship into their own lives and in the ministries they serve.
